It’s officially winter here in the South and the dropping temperature has me wanting to cozy up to a warm fire. With the new season change also comes a new feature menu at Firebirds and you know I had to try it asap! This Winter Feature Menu is available now through January 1, 2019 and is one menu you do not want to pass up checking out. Chad and I visit Firebirds each season just to try the new items and the Winter Feature Menu has been my absolute favorite thus far. I love the variety offered on the featured menus each season. Chad is a meat and potato man while I am a seafood lover and this Winter Feature Menu offers great options for both of us.
The featured appetizer for the Winter Feature Menu is Baked Herb Goat Cheese Fondue. Now if you know me you know I never shy away from the cheese. In fact, the more cheese on my plate the better so a Goat Cheese Fondue on the new menu was one item I was really looking forward to! It’s topped with a roasted tomato and olive relish, served with toasted focaccia. This appetizer was a hit at the table so much that even Cullen couldn’t resist a double dip of this cheesy mouth watering goodness.
If you stop in during lunch Chad and I both highly recommend trying the featured Honey Whiskey BBQ Burger. This wood grilled burger, with Tillamook sharp cheddar, applewood-smoked bacon, ranch rings and Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey BBQ sauce, on a brioche bun was one of the juiciest delicious burgers we’ve eaten! It oozed of deliciousness and even though I was skeptical about the BBQ sauce it had a slight hint of sweetness that set this burger apart from any other.
For dinner there are many options from seafood to steak but we both agreed the Pepper Encrusted New York Strip was the best dish of the night. Chad and I love a good steak and one thing about Firebird’s is they never disappoint when it comes to delivering the best steaks. The New York Strip on the Winter Feature Menu is covered in a creamy brandied peppercorn sauce, served with crispy potatoes and asparagus. We choose to have our steak cooked medium and as usual it was cooked to perfection. It was packed full of flavor and the peppercorn sauce was rich, creamy and delicious.
We finished off dinner with Pyramid Peak Chocolate Cheesecake and it was decadent. It was topped with balsamic marinated strawberries and I have to admit I was a tad skeptical about the strawberries at first. I wasn’t sure how well balsamic went with strawberries or cheesecake until I had my first bite. The flavors married in my mouth harmoniously for the perfect finish to the night.
If you are near a Firebird’s stop by and grab some of these limited time Winter Features before they are gone! I also want to mention that they brought back their delicious coconut shrimp appetizer and carrot cake. Chad and I use to frequent Firebird’s for the carrot cake alone so when we heard they brought it back we jumped for joy. Winter Feature Menu available now through January 1, 2019!
