Guys, it’s been less than 24 hours since our visit to the Lobster Tail located in Okaloosa Island, Florida and here I am eagerly typing out this article. The Lobster Tail Restaurant just opened in March and it sits right in the heart of The Boardwalk. We always visit The Boardwalk while in the area and were excited for this new little gem. During this trip we decided to visit during Happy Hour and when I say their Happy Hour is one “Centsable Steal,” I mean it’s unbeatable. Happy Hour is every day from 4-6 p.m. During Happy Hour at the Lobster Tail everything from drinks to entrees are all buy one get one half off! If that isn’t the best Happy Hour offer I’ve seen then I must be missing out!
During this trip we started out with the Lobster Bites. The Lobster Bites were deep fried to a crunchy perfection and served with a spicy honey mustard sauce. I have to admit I’m not one for spicy and even though the honey mustard packed a kick to it, it complimented the Lobster Bites perfectly.
For dinner I had to dabble into the lobster dishes. Afterall, this is a lobster restaurant, I must have lobster! I choose the Lobster Mac ‘N’ Cheese and added a ½ serving of the Stuffed Lobster Spiney Tail. The Stuffed Spiney Tail was by far the most delicious piece of lobster I’ve ever eaten. The lobster portion was cooked to perfection. It was tender, juicy and all around perfect. There wasn’t a thing about this piece of lobster that needed changing.
As a second part of my entrée round I had to try the Lobster Mac ‘N’ Cheese. For one, who doesn’t love mac ‘n’ cheese and for two it has LOBSTER! The 4 cheese Lobster Mac was packed full of flavorful cheesy goodness. It was baked with a bread crumb topping but to be honest I found myself digging to the bottom for all the cheesiness. I was very pleased with the pieces of lobster in this dish as well. I’ve had other lobster mac dishes before and most have very small tiny pieces of lobster but the one at the Lobster Tail had HUGE pieces of lobster mixed in. The lobster was so abundant that I wasn’t left wondering where the lobster was at.
For dessert Chad opted for Key Lime Pie which I’m usually not a fan of. I didn’t eat much this time around either but I did have a bit for the sake of my article. I will admit that even though Key Lime Pie isn’t my thing this particular piece of pie was what I’d look for in a Key Lime Pie if I were to eat it. It wasn’t sour and tart like all the others I’ve tried. I could taste the lime flavors without it being too over powering and when paired with the whipped cream the two made for one magical bite.
If you are a lobster lover and looking for the BEST lobster around we highly recommend the Lobster Tail in Okaloosa Island, Florida. This is one restaurant we hope sticks around and cannot wait to visit again on our next trip!
