It’s no secret that my husband and I love to travel. From cruising to the Caribbean or relaxing on the beach in Florida, we love it all! This year we decided a trip to Destin was long overdue. With so many hotels and rentals, it was more than a little overwhelming trying to find the perfect place to stay. One thing I noticed while searching was the price. Everything seemed so over priced! That was until I came across Extended Stay America.
This particular location wasn’t directly on the beach but it sure wasn’t far from it. We arrived around 12:00 p.m and were able to check in immediately. The check in process was smooth and effortless. The wonderful lady at the front desk was very nice and informative.
We then made our way to our room and were amazed at how nice it was for the price! Our room included a small kitchen fully stocked with both dinner and cookware. There was also a small table with two chairs, a king size bed, a pullout couch bed, a dresser and a television. Everything we would possibly need for the next two days were nicely placed in the room.
After unloading we finally decided to find the pool. It was located behind the hotel. The water and weather were perfect so we decided to take a dip. The pool was crystal clear and quite relaxing. I’ve been to cheap hotels before and the water is murky and dirty. Thankfully this pool was neither! The hotel itself had a drink and snack machine, both fully stocked.
If I had to recommend an affordable hotel with excellent customer service and great amenities it would definitely be the Extended Stay America! My only complaint, which isn’t really a complaint more so than a preference, was the breakfast. The breakfast is what they refer to as a “grab and go.” Personally we prefer the continental breakfast. This was our first time in a hotel that didn’t serve a full breakfast. It wasn’t bad it was just “different.”
